We are delighted to have had a superb guest night with the excellent Si Barron. Monday 23 December was the chance for everybody to remind themselves of how brilliant this guy is. He sings with a lovely clear voice and plays astonishingly complicated guitar while he is singing.

Since we last saw him, Si has added some new music to his repertoire. We were very impressed with two or three splendid blues songs, and a couple of old numbers by Simon & Garfunkel.

Our last guest night at the Nova Scotia Folk Club was on Monday 23 September. It was our talented old friend Andy Danford, who is very well known at the club, having helped to run the show for quite a long time, before moving away from Bristol earlier this year.

We had missed him, and were all looking forward to seeing him again, singing a mixture of his own songs and well-known standards, complete with his guitar, banjo and harmonica. And he didn't disappoint. His mixed repertoire brought back lots of memories, and he called James Slater up to join him for some excellent songs at the end.

We are normally open every Monday night of the year, apart from Christmas Day and New Year's Eve. These are mostly regular floor singers' nights with a guest spot night approximately every six weeks. These provide time for an extended set from one of our regular performers.
